this section would be good for us to give an owners review. Nothing better than real world reviews instead of some rag. I am sure there are lots on this site here that made their decisions based on their lurking experiences.

Chad is a wiz with the site. Maybe we could list some points and rate 1-10.

For me it was obvious what I was buying the bike for but I had no idea it was going to be such a comfortable bike also.
Some thoughts

appearance
weight
fuel econo
durability
vibes
sound
acceleration
braking
overall power
ergo
range
ease of maint
service
aerodynamics
0-mph acellerations
equipment performance ie: lights, switches ect

overall bike rating- 9 IMO, nothing is a 10

and WTF is the B switch for

before i owned this bike i owned a 1983 gs1100e and a 1983 honda nighthawk650. i loved both bikes. the gs had drag bars and made it a little hard to ride long distances. the honda was great all around. it was very easy to ride, but had no power like the gs. i saw the bking at the dealership when they first got it in feb 08. i thought the tank was too wide and look wierd. a year past, and i rode both the of the other bikes all the time. but i needed more power. the guys at work had 1000cc new sport bikes. i am a bigger guy at 5'10" and 270lbs, so the sport bikes were a little too uncomfertable for me. i called the dealership in feb 09 and asked them if they still had the bking, they did. i went there and pulled the trigger. best decision i ever made. i went there in later march to pic it up. i was very nervous to ride it home(only 3 miles) when i first picked my feet off the ground i thought, this is easier than the honda to ride, and i was. this bike is very comfertable, very easy to maneuver. after my 500 mile break in, i cranked the throttle at 6000 rpm in first gear, the front end came straight up and then slamed back down, nocking the wind out of me(stomach hitting gas tank) right then i knew that this was the bike for me. every time i get on it i still get that adrenaline rush when i twist that throttle. so now, with a few new mods, the bike is still exiting to me(all other toys i've owned dull after a year or so) so if you want a comfertable, powerful bike, that is very easy to maneuver, (or your a big dude that wants to keep up with the skinny punks you work with) this is the bike for you.9 out of 10 cheers

I bought a Bandit 1250s in Dec 08, put a bunch of Holeshot goodies on it and was very happy, but ...but I couldn't shake the notion that a naked bike with a Busa engine would be the ultimate ride for me. I read about the B King and was intrigued. But the price and the funky tail, put me off. I saw one on the street and thought it looked better than in the photos, but the price was still too tall. I saw one at a dealer with the Yoshi pipes and fell in love, but couldn't afford my passion. Then the bottom fell out of the prices. B Kings for sale under $8000. My buddy and I rented a car and drove the 300 miles to the rural dealer who had that price and each of us bought one. Neither of us was sure we had done the right thing when we started home. But we ended up smiling all the way. Here's why: Power - smooth and seemingly unlimited with crazy acceleration
Ride - good upright ergos, almost flickable, with great forks and shock
Brakes - awesome stopping power with good feel
Looks - not so much, but the price was so low I could do the Yoshis and stuff and
now the looks are a plus
End Result: My Bandit and his FZ1 just ain't getting out of the garage like they should. Given the choice, we both go for the King. king

Sold my lowered and 6" longer R1 with air shifter and 50hp N20 because the crotch rocket riding position was hurting my neck... then went looking around. Rode my buddies 08 Busa loved the power but not the crotch rocket riding position. Rode a new big bagger Kaw 14 loved it but it looked like a big plain vanilla cruiser. Rode a Kaw 1000 naked bike and it seemed too small for me and not enough suds.
In the back of my mind I remembered at a bike show in 2008 seeing the big King but was repelled by the Phony Darth Vader look.

Ran out of bikes to look at so I decided that the King's big power and upright hooligan riding position was what I needed. Figured I could butcher up the Darth Vader look to something more street fighter like so I bought my new Black King sight unseen from a California dealer and had it shipped up to Washington State.

Never rode a King and when the delivery truck dropped it off I again was reminded it was ugly but it also began to look kinda sexy. I took it home and immediately replaced the stock exhaust with a new 2 bros aluminum system. I put Oberon mirrors on it and removed every sticker. Color sanded all the black parts and removed the tank side covers to begin looking at options to replace the tank covers. Decided to put them back on and I also replaced the rear seat with a cowl and removed the rear foot pegs because I will not be carrying any passengers.

Took it out for its maiden voyage and was very surprised with the nimble handling, good power, and great front brakes. The more I ride it and more I look at the damn King it grows on ya. I have other bikes including a nasty street fighter supercharged with N20 six cylinder Valkyrie but the King is the King!
