| stock against stock at the drags, any well ridden gsxr1000 k6 onwards. I always have them beat at 1/2 track and they go flying by at the end, usually 7-8mph faster on terminal speed. |

If you went to a 17 tooth front sprocket would that make a difference? |

| You need to work on your 60 ft. I run easliy 1.6 or best 1.58. with 16/47, 9.94@136mph.
I ran 17/47 also 9.99 @138.
I have now been running 18/ 51 with a wheelie bar consisently 1.52 60ft 9.85 @ 139.7.
Wind plays a big key so you need to tuck tight. If I have a slopy tuck it will cost me a tenth.
I am 265lbs riding weight. Each 15 lbs lighter is worth a tenth quicker or a tenth more for each 15 lbs heavier.
With your set up and alt i would think 10.3 should be fairly easy unless you are a big guy.
Launch about 5 k and ride the clutch out them hammer as soon as you can with your rider weight as far fwd as you can. Also go to shnitz racing and pick up some srtaps. I strap my front down to 1 1/4 ". I run an shinko ultra soft 190, traction is much much better. If you have wheel slip, your times will be much higher, even a couple of rotations will cost you at least a tenth
We don't have tons of power so to get runs in the 9s or very low 10s we need to squeeze everything out of the bike and yourself.
My first run down the track was 10.5 and I thought it was a great run until I got my time slip.
With no change to the bike I wittled that time to 9.94 that day.
My goal is to try to get into 9.7s or at least low 9.8s.
Just make more runs and focus on the your technique, you might want to go with at least a 45 rear sprocket. 17/47 will work with stock chain but your wheel base is shorter and its harder to keep the front down.
I ran down a zx 14 after my launch was not the best, 10.04 / 10.06. Both bikes could have done better but thats all the riders could do for that run. Keep running you will beat others. Extended wheel bases and light riders have huge advantages, so take that note when racing others.
Have fun!!!!!!!!! |

| Hey Loud Pipes, Thanks for the tips! At what RPM do you shift? I was thinking I need to go up on Rear sprocket, I am not taching in 4th gear... I will definatley work on my 60 ft. My Reaction times are consitently .080 and lower... I weigh 240 lbs in street clothes, so +20-30 lbs in gear? I am getting tired of getting beat up! |

| shifting should be choosen by your peak HP and gearing. You can determine this by your ET.
My set up with 17-47 was 10,100 best et set up and 18/51 is 10,000 best et |
