Just heard a rumor that 2010
is the last year for VMax.

B-Kings are getting rare.

Around here ZX14s and new Busas
are only selling at give away prices.

Jeezz...what the..?

Are we all going to be
riding Electric Scooters soon?

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Yep. Electric scooters that look like the chrome 1960' Sunbeam Mixmaster electric mixers, they have a high pitched whine instead of an engine rumble and blow copious bubbles out the tail pipes. 0-60 in 22 seconds, top speed of 63.5.

Its a sign of the poor economy, you need Trumph like credit to obtain a loan for a motorcycle...It seems that many speed shops will be closing in the near future unless things make a turn like in Europe, where people are snatching up older bikes and modding the hell out of them.

Suzuki is one out of the big four that is holding up most of the 2010 line til it is actually 2010.
We have a couple of dirtbikes ordered (we get several every year) and Suzuki usually gets the bikes here by sept or oct. Now they have told us it will be Feb and each dealer was ONLY gauranteed 2/ 250's and 2/ 450's. If Osama doesn't do something to turn the economy around "Quickly", we will be in serious trouble. Most solid dealers can make it through a really bad year. (read break even) those that aren't solid have already gone under. thus all the auctions.
But hey, let's look on the liberal side: If we all lose our jobs we will have wonderful free govt run insurance, like medicare, social security, US postal service, fannie mae, freddie mac, etc, etc!

the yamaha people are making alot of mistakes. the new r1 is a joke and the new vmax still has an 18" tire, lol. not to mention a price only royalty could afford. love the looks of the r1 but the performance really is a joke..... I think most of the bike companys need to trim out models a la gm to survive this world economy. its just not here ya know and the arabs still love there mopeds,lol...

get your kicks now...I have a feeling that vespa's are the only two wheel manufacturers that are going to make it at the rate of the current economy....sad...just read that Buel officaily closed its doors recently.

I think Buell is going to take a different direction. I know Harley has dropped the line.
Too bad cuz Buell just started coming out with some cool bikes.

The following is from Erik Buell Racing...

Erik Buell Racing has sold its first race bikes, a pair of 1190RR-B European Spec superbikes, to an established privateer team with years of racing experience. The Pegasusraceteam.com team will campaign the new 1190RR-Bs in the European Sound of Thunder Series, along with Buell® 1125Rs and XBs in support classes.

"We have had great success with the 1125R and XB12R in the last few years," said Thomas Wanner, Pegasusraceteam principal. "Now we will expand our program by using the new 1190RR-B."

The 1190RR-Bs will be ridden by Harald Kitsch, the 2009 Sound of Thunder champion.

"Kitsch is a very talented rider with World Endurance Championship and German IDM experience," said Jens Kruper, Pegasusraceteam manager. "He is really looking forward to racing the new bike."

"We are extremely pleased that the Pegasusrace team will be the first team in the world to get the new 1190RR-B. Over the years, I've been very impressed with every aspect of their organization and I know they will do well," said Erik Buell of Erik Buell Racing. "We've been working very hard to develop this bike and get our race shop set up and organized as we begin to showcase the finest race parts and technology we can deliver without restriction."

Erik Buell Racing specializes in the supply of race-use-only Buell motorcycle parts and race preparation services for engines and motorcycles, and the building and sale of Buell® 1125R-based race-use-only motorcycles under license from Hardly-Davidson, as well as providing technical support to racers of Buell motorcycles.
