PostSubject: Letters from the Adelaide Hills   Sun Jun 21, 2009 7:03 am

well yet again a awesome day in adelaide , blue skies , hardly any breeze and an idling BKing (all in the middle of winter here ...)
it dosnt get much better than that.

the boys roll uo from 9am and we try to leave my place by 9.30am , our ride takes us into the hill via the Gorge Road a beautiful peice of bitumen that winds through the Adelaide hills past Kangaroo Creek Dam , through Cudlee Creek Town
up Cudley Creek Road into Lobethal , mostly 80k stuff with a 50 or 60k through mostly small towns. Once at Lobey we order our usual round of coffee's , chocolates and juices and head
out side to the footpath to watch others show up , and chat to the gathered throng.
Rodney was there again this week , this guy is a legend amonst riders up here. He has 3 or 4 bikes ranging from a Honda 750cc scooter that looks pretty radical , through a GSXR1000 09 model R1 09 model GSXR750 08 model.
Sounds good so far dosnt it , well heres where it gets tough , Rodney has been ravaged by meningococcal look it up if you want more on it , sufficed to say on his left hand they stopped amputating fingers when the where none left but left his thumb. His right foot is missing from just behind the big toe first knuckle in a stright line to the small toe first knuckle , and is always bandaged and in a rubber support brace.

Some days he can bearly walk over the road without stopping for a sec and weve all grown acustomed to making sure cars and other bikes stop or slow right down while hes doing it
the pain he is in constantly is quite evil and even with all ths he can still smile and enjoy his ride , but hang on it dont end there though , he has a mod that moves the clutch lever over to the right side
above the throttle , just firkin mind blowing how fast he rides like this.....

Getting back to the ride , we mount up and head off to the Mount Torrens pub for our 11am eye opener (or 2) and more bs sessions.
After leaving Mt Torrens the fast stuff starts

but more on that in my next elephant
Letter from the Adelaide Hills...(exciting background music here)
