I clean the oil off with brake cleaner spray

brake cleaner spray works great, but if you get it on flat black plastic parts, they like to turn white, so careful with brake cleaner cheers

The cleaner I use does not do that, CRC I think?

you use the good stuff, the cleaner i used came from a 55 gallon drum put into a spray bottle. it turned by chain gaurd white. i'm sure it was chlorinated. with a little wax and some patience it turn to black again. was it in a green can?

You have some of that nuclear stuff bounce

Can't be new-clear - it caused the plastic to turn white. ahahahaha - I kill myself...... lol!

I think it may also be in the owners manual, but its pretty straight foward, good luck and use a new crush washer evertime on the drain plug and torque the pan bolt to 16.5 ftlbs

Sage advice, but an alternative that I do on my two-wheel stuff, even
scooters, is to simply drill the drain bolt and the aluminum edge from the
pan right beside it for safety wire. (And the safety wire it.)

Here's a neat trick, wait until everything has cooled, then take a medium ziplock freezer bag, wiggle the filter into it, seal it, and remove without leaking oil all over the headers. Might need the aid of some one with small hands.

WD-40 will work just as well, and it quickly burns off without much mess.
