| Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic. I did scads of research before I got the bike on the best oil, and found independant testing of all major brands, pointing to amsoil as the best. It's expensive...$14 a litre/quart. No matter which oil you get, never extend your oil/filter change interval beyond 3000 miles/5000 kms. The oil may still be perfectly functional, but exhaust gasses, water from combustiuon and unburned fuel form acids that eat aluminum parts like pancakes. It doesn't matter if your oil is good for a zillion miles, change it. And for the love of god, before it sits for winter, put fresh oil and a filter in it. |

I did the same research, and found the same documentation however I can say after running CASES of Amsoil in my M109, and the wifes C-50, that it's not the best oil for my bikes.
Both the C50 and 109 NEVER burned a drop of oil, UNTIL switching to Amsoil... The M109 eats the stuff like its cotton candy. Several friends on M109's have had the same problem with the Amsoil.
For the 109 I switched over to Quaker State 0w30 Synth. Yes its a car oil... I know its not recommended for Wet clutches and MC's... but the 109 doesn't burn a single drop of it, gets better gas mileage on it, and no problems with the clutch.
The B-King didn't like that oil and had clutch slippage on it... and I wont do Amsoil anymore... so for the king the Mobile 1 synth it is.
The Amsoil Rep I was buying my oil from was basically selling it to me by the case at roughly $10 a quart. If you want I can put you in touch with him and save you a few bucks a qt. (I am still using the Amsoil Gear lube on the 109 and C50.) |

| Clutch slippage on the Amsoil? Wow.. I changed the oil&filter at 1000kms, 2000kms with Castrol 'dino' 10w40 oil, then at 3000kms with Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic. I plan to change it every 3000kms on it, currently at 5600 on the odometer. Not a bit of an issue in either oil consumption or clutch slippage. You should ask them what gives. They're supposed to be the cat's ass in synthetic. |

| I wasn't saying Slippage on the Amsoil guys.
I was saying that my M109 burns the stuff like there is no tomorrow... as does my Wifes C-50. But other synthetics don't. So I won't use it anymore
The Clutch Slippage I am referring to is when using the Quaker State Q-Power 0W30 or 10W30 Full Synth. The 109 and C50 do great on the stuff...
The B-king clutch slips on it (Its a car oil, which is probably why the B-King clutch slips with it). |

| I'll be changing to a FULL synthetic soon on my new B-King...Was thinking of using Motul 15-50 as I'm in Monterey California and the temp ranges are on average 45 to over 100 degrees...Have been using the FULL synthetic Motul 15-50 in Yamaha Road Warrior with NO problems...I have a couple of friends that live in the Central Valley where temps are many times at or over 100 and they've have been using the 20-50 Amsoil in their Hayabusas....Any thoughts??? Would appreciate input.. |

| I use a semi-syn 10w-40 Repsol oil with a K&N oil filter.
I used crude Suzuki oil for break-in and now on repsols semi for it's 3500 mile period, then after I will be using a full synthetic for it's entire life after 3500 miles...... Basically trying to faze in the full synthetic oil instead of just going straight to it. |
