I own the complete system including rain covers. Packed for a seven day trip with no problem. This is the second Ventura system I've had and I can vouch for them. Once you arrive at your destination you can remove the hardware (except the rear mount) easily and get back to the 'naked look. or, you can put the short rack on and use it for Ventura's Sport Bag or one of your own. I use a soft sided small cooler on it.

Installation is relatively easy. the only problem, if you want to call it that, is the rear mounting bracket. You have to go under the rear fender to mount it. In my case, I had eliminated the rear fender and had to find some spacers and a different bolt. All-in-all, it wasn't hard to do.
